Volunteer

Make a difference in your local community

Volunteering with The Village Chef is a practical way to help local people stay nourished, independent and connected. A meal delivery may be a small part of your day, but for the person receiving it, the friendly visit can make a real difference. We are often looking for volunteers who can assist with weekday meal deliveries and other areas of support.

What volunteering involves

  • Delivering meals to clients using your own car
  • Providing a friendly handover and brief check-in
  • Supporting local people to remain connected to their community
  • Helping with other suitable roles when opportunities are available

Meals delivery

What To Expect

Meals are delivered Monday to Friday between approximately 10:30am and 1:00pm. We generally require volunteers who can commit to at least four hours per fortnight, with weekly availability highly valued.

  • The satisfaction of contributing to an important local service
  • The opportunity to meet people and build connections
  • Induction and support from experienced staff and volunteers
  • Work with a clear purpose and visible community impact
