You do not need to be registered with My Aged Care to order meals. Meals can be purchased at private rates. This can be a straightforward option if you want to begin services without waiting for an assessment or referral.
The Village Chef is supported by the Australian Government Department of Health, Disability and Ageing to deliver subsidised meals to approved My Aged Care recipients.
You may be eligible for subsidised meals if you are:
• 65 years or older
• 50 years or older for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people
To find out whether you are eligible, phone My Aged Care on 1800 200 422. Our team can also talk you through the steps involved.
CHSP provides entry-level support for older people who need some help to remain living at home. If you have an approved meal service referral through My Aged Care, you may be able to access subsidised meals through this program.
Support at Home provides coordinated support for older people living at home. If meals are included in your approved services, we can often work with your provider to arrange billing and minimise your out-of-pocket costs.
Payments
All clients must have a nominated payment method on file (credit card or bank account) for direct debit. This helps streamline our processes and keep meals affordable.
A link to set up payments is included in the new client information pack and order form.
Payments are processed at the start of each month for meals ordered in the previous month. If no meals are ordered, no payment will be deducted.
The following price list applies to clients approved under the Commonwealth Home Support Programme, provided we have a valid My Aged Care referral on file.
Note: Prices are reviewed annually and subject to increase each new financial year.
